Welcome!

carohamp2019

My angle is unique because I was diagnosed at a young age. I've had to learn the ins and outs of living with RA starting from a young age, while at the same time, playing competitive sports. Having arthritis and being active is not the most ideal pair, but it is possible to do both. I want to use my platform to help and support others. Living with a an autoimmune disease, no matter what type, is challenging and I want my readers to be informed as to how to personally manage it, or even support others who struggle.

What to expect...

I am here to share my personal experiences to help others. I hope my story inspires others, break away from negative stigmas/misconceptions, and give advice that I’ve learned from going through it myself. When I was diagnosed, I was never told what to do to make it better or what to avoid. My goal is to make someone else’s journey easier to navigate, or to educate others about RA.

The different topics and sections I will address in my blog are:

  • Misconceptions

  • My journey

  • Sports/ exercising

  • Diet: good things I’ve found

  • Diet Bad things I’ve found

  • The Caro Cheat Sheet

  • Other important things

  • 12 years later…

Ultimately, I am here to help others. The issue with autoimmune diseases, is that they aren’t black and white. It’s different for each person and what works for me might not work for everyone. My end goal of this blog is to share my personal experiences to inspire and inform. As I said before, having arthritis and being active is not the most ideal pair, but it is possible to do both.

Just Some FACTS

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease. It is an inflammatory disease where your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body, therefore causing inflammation. Not only does it effect your joints, but also your tissue and organs.
